Real Madrid linked with Martin Zubimendi

Real Madrid are interested in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that Madrid president Florentino Perez is looking for a successor to Toni Kroos, and that he has identified Zubimendi as a potential target.

Zubimendi has been on the books of Sociedad since 2011 and has established himself in the first team after coming through the youth system. The Spain international defensive midfielder has scored one goal and given one assist in 11 starts in La Liga and has played twice in the UEFA Europa League for La Real so far this season.

Madrid are second in the La Liga table at the moment with 24 points from 11 matches, nine points behind leaders and bitter rivals Barcelona, who have played 12 games. As for Sociedad, they currently find themselves 11th in the standings with 15 points from 12 games.
